Our panel lock

Simplifies exhibit construction, reduces installation and dismantle time - lowering labor costs. Top quality, all steel construction, with lifetime guarantee against failure. Meant to be used over and over, with no reduction in performance. The standard male and female parts, each mount on 3/4" thick material, making the joint 1 1/2" thick  when locked together. These locks mount inside the panel stiles, they do not rely on the mounting screws for strength. These locks can be used in all types of joints: wall panel to wall panel, header sections, staging sections, and most any other place a strong, quick connection is wanted.

Drilling kit (image not shown)

This kit takes the guesswork out of drilling the wrench access hole in double faced panels. It's low-tech, very simple to use, and most importantly it insures that every wrench access hole lines up perfectly with the lock behind it.

Panel lock wrenches

Come in two sizes, both 5/16" hex, one is 5" X 5", the other is 5" X 12". We'll make any other size you might need too.

Hole Plugs

Hole plugs are typically used to cover, or plug, the wrench access hole on exhibit panels. However they have other uses too, such as covering screw heads, or filling any other round hole that must remain accessible. We carry three different types: Unfinished steel in 3/8" diameter; white and black plastic in five diameters from 1/4" to 1/2"; and natural plastic in five diameters from 1/4" to 1/2". The natural plastic plugs have an oversize head.

Many other diameters are available, especially in the white and black plastic style.

Exhibit bolts
This bolt is similar to a carriage bolt, but has a much larger head than a carriage bolt. Using this bolt to assemble wood components will eliminate damage from the bolt to the wood framing, and eliminate the need for a washer as commonly used under the head of a carriage bolt. The heads on these bolts  are slightly bigger than the washer built into our washer base wing nuts. The two items together are a great way to fasten components together if bolting is the preferred method of assembly.

Washer base wing nuts
These wing nuts, used most extensively in the 1/4-20 size,  eliminate the need for a washer as commonly used with standard wing nuts. The washer base is 7/8" diameter on the 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" wing nuts, and 5/8" diameter on the 3/16" wing nut.

Carriage Bolts
Carriage bolts have long been used to fasten exhibit panels and parts together. We have 1/4" diameter, in several lengths, in our Display Industry specific catalog. Please note below, our torque washers, which when used under the head of a carriage bolt, increase the head diameter to 1.10". In our general fastener catalog, we have many more lengths, and several other diameters, sold in case quantity.

Torque Washers
This washer was specifically designed to go under the head of a carriage bolt. The outside diameter is 1.10", the square center hole is just over 1/4". The three prongs on the washer dig into the wood around the bolt, and prevent the carriage bolt from turning. By using this washer, the pressure from the head of the carriage bolt is spread over a much larger area, and prevents damage to the wood framing of exhibit panels.

Wing screws
Wing screws can be used any place 1/4-20 threads are available, they are easy to install and remove, requiring no tools.

Thumb screws
Thumb screws are very similar to wing screws, except that there are more length choices and the head design is different. They are also much stronger. These screws come in diameters from 6-32 up to 3/8, with many lengths available. They are zinc plated, and make a nice companion piece for the washer base wing nut.

Tee nuts
Our tee nuts have a two hole mounting plate attached to, or built on to,  the barrel. When the tee nut is positioned, and two screws are used to secure the tee nut through the mounting plate, the installation is permanent, the tee nuts will not fall out or be pushed out as conventional tee nuts do when the wood around them dries and shrinks.

Knife thread inserts
These inserts are made for installation in wood, and allow machine thread bolts to be used when assembling wood components.

Vent plugs
Use these where air circulation is important. They look nice, are functional, and promote cooling around lights, motors, or anything else that produces heat.

Hand hole plugs
When double sided panels are required, and bolts are the desired fastener to secure panels together, access holes must be provided to reach the bolts. Our hand hole plug allows a 4" diameter hole to be drilled, the bolts installed, and then our hand hole plug used to fill the hole. These plugs can be painted, and are easily removed at dismantle time.

Crating and Packing Felt

This felt is well suited for crating and general packaging.  We carry five widths, and two thicknesses, each with and without adhesive backing, on 50 foot or 100 foot rolls, depending on the thickness.  The color is white.

Hasps and hinges
These hasps and hinges are usually used on shipping crates. They do an excellent job, and stand up well to shipping wear and tear.

Electrical cords/Multiple outlet strips
Lots of products here, all cords, except our flat cords, are black. That means they can be somewhat visible yet not be too noticeable. Many styles available. Don't see what you need? Please call, we can help.
